Photos by @junmichaelpark @seoulphotographer / In April, I worked with @natgeo to cover what South Korea has been doing right in handling Covid-19. I photographed medical workers at testing booths and Covid-19-only hospitals, a testing kit company, a school conducting an online class, a social distancing outdoor exam, and a taekwondo studio, a restaurant and a park once again bustling with people.⁣⁣
⁣⁣⠀⁣
⁣⁣After nearly a month of hard work and 8500 photographs, nine images made the final cut. Using National Geographic’s wide-reaching platform, I wanted to document medical workers and other unsung heroes on the frontlines doing their best to keep everyone safe. This was to be a story of hope, but after a recent outbreak in Itaewon, many of the more positive photos were unfortunately taken out. It was rewarding to shape this story’s direction with the power of photography, but much still remains untold.⁣⁣
