Over the course of his journey as a visual storyteller, Jun has documented various subjects, from the families of the South Korean ferry victims to an international e-Sports champion in Pakistan. In 2015, Jun won a Silver award in the Press-Feature Story category at Prix de la Photographie Paris (Px3) and participated in the Eddie Adams Workshop XXVIII in New York. In April 2022, he became the first South Korean photographer to be named a National Geographic Explorer. With the support of the National Geographic Society grant, Jun is now continuing his work on Korea National Park Service’s pioneering moon bear rewilding project. He is exploring the question of how Korea, a rapidly industrialized and urbanized nation, can learn to re-embrace nature and coexist with its wildlife.

His work has been published in National Geographic, The New York Times, Der Spiegel, The Guardian, CNN, ESPN and Monocle magazine, among other international publications.

Jun is available for photo and video (including drone) assignments and commissions worldwide.
