Back in July CNN was given rare access behind the scenes at Samsung’s headquarters and secretive R&D labs. The South Korean tech giant has been working on innovations beyond its best-known products – semi-conductors and mobile phones.
Joining CNN, I witnessed and photographed creative, hands-on problem solving at Samsung. The projects under development range from a vision enhancing solution for the visually impaired to an exoskeleton that assists walking by analyzing the user’s gait.
The CNN team worked tirelessly over two days from dawn until dusk. I was thrilled to see the long piece featuring 17 of my photographs. It even ended up on CNN’s front page. Kudos to Kristie Lu Stout, Jon Jensen, Sophie Jeong and Charlie Miller for all the hard work.
Special thanks to Brett Roegiers and Marie Barbier for trusting me with this one. Fantastic edit and layout. Read the feature story here and view more of my editorial work here.
