RCNi, a publishing company in London, UK, commissioned me to cover the International Council for Nurses 2015 conference in Seoul for two days. I’m obviously new to the nursing world, but this event was huge. I was pleasantly surprised to meet people of diverse and international backgrounds. And there were some inspirational speeches and stories.

The event itself was pretty straightforward. I covered the opening ceremony on Friday and then the conferences and talks on Sunday. Phil, the photo editor in UK, had provided me a brief. I tried to add some interesting shots while following it. For instance, the photo at the beginning, a view of COEX seen from Bongeunsa buddhist temple, was taken out of self-initiative. I knew the temple was there and would provide an interesting outlook of the venue and Seoul.
I helped out Chris, a journalist from RCNi, wherever I could. It was her first time in South Korea, and I tried to make her life easy by helping with the smartphone roaming issues and providing translation and etc. After all, I’m a working photojournalist with international background. We got along really well, and I also liked the way the photo editor and I communicated. All in all it was a pleasant collaboration and fun assignment.
