Drones have changed how photographers and videographers see the world. I’ve taken my drone whenever I had a chance to travel in the last few years on and off assignments. The places that I visited include Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan, Chagan Lake in China and Vladivostok, Russia, to name a few. In December 2017, Germany’s Der Spiegel magazine assigned me to get drone photos and videos of the Olympic sites right before the 2019 Pyeongchang Winter Games.

At first I was mostly interested in drone photography, but my curiosity for filmmaking and videography quickly grew. I finally decided to put together a showreel from some of my footages.
I have taken some pretty cool photos as well.

Because of the tensions with North Korea, South Korea is a difficult place to fly a drone. You need to get clearance from the local aviation agency and the military; you also need insurance for a professional shoot. A lot of amateurs and foreigners think they can get away with flying in Seoul or other places in Korea, but the penalty is a hefty fine of two million Korean won (approximately 1900 USD) or less.
I am a professional photographer and drone operator with many years of experience and contacts. I have a DJI Mavic 4 Pro Creator Combo and have flown Phantom 4 Pro and Inspire on rental.
If you have a project in and around Korea, please feel free to contact me.
