2018 Year in Review

I had another creative and productive year in 2018. In January and February, I covered stories for various international media before and during the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. The Monocle Travel Guide to Seoul, for which I was the chief photographer, came out in March. Monocle happens to be my most frequent client in 2018.

I traveled to Taiwan, Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan and Hong Kong for work and networking. I also started operating a drone and began shooting video more seriously.

The personalities that I photographed in 2018 include the former UNSG Ban Ki-moon, the Nobel laureate in literature Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clezio, the famed buddhist nun and chef Jeong Kwan and the Japanese musician Ryuichi Sakamoto.

Here is the client list for 2018:

Editorial: The New York Times, The Washington Post, ESPN, Vox Media, Foreign Policy, Ink Media, Monocle, BBC, The Financial Times, The Economist, Der Spiegel, Die Zeit, FAZ Quarterly, de Volkskrant and more

Commercial: WeWork, SAAB in Sweden, Sourceman International in Australia and more.

Looking back, I’m incredibly grateful to all the photo editors and clients, who have given me trust and support. I am able to do the work that I do because of them. I have a feeling that 2019 would be even more exciting and productive. I wish all the clients and visitors happy holidays and a wonderful 2019!
